Sony is expected to introduce the Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia Z3
Compact and the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact this coming week
at IFA in Berlin. In addition, it appears that Sony will be introducing
a pair of new wearable devices at the same time.

Fuzzy looking renders of both the Sony SmartWatch 3 and
the Sony SmartBand Talk have appeared, sparking talk that

both will also be unveiled at the Sony event on September 4th.

The Sony SmartWatch 3 is powered by Android Wear and will
feature a 1.68 inch screen with a 320 x 320 resolution.
The timepiece has an IP58 certification.

The Sony SmartWatch 3 will feature a 1.68" display with
a 320x320 pixel resolution. It'll have IP58 certification under
its strap and run Android Wear instead of regular Android with
a Sony skin on top. As for the SmartBand Talk, it features a
curved e-ink display and Bluetooth connectivity. The fitness
tracker wearable should also be able to alert of phone notifications,
but no further details are available at this point. But that's not all,
as the company also teased we're about to go into deep waters with its latest products.

Publishers may well wonder where they should place AdSense
ads on their pages for the best results. There’s a great deal of
speculation about AdSense ad placement in
webmaster circles, but not much hard data.

It is clear that ads placed above the fold—meaning in the top
third of the page where they will be seen on any computer
monitor without scrolling down—do better than
ads placed lower on a page.

The best performing AdSense ad format and position is
Leaderboard also called a horizontal skyscraper close to the
top of a page. The second-best format is one of the
several vertical skyscraper formats Skyscraper and Wide Skyscraper,
with the top ad very close to the top of the page, either along the

This Android smartphone from Lenovo has appeared on the
Chinese TENAA website. Dubbed the X2, the smartphone
has passed certification in the country and has revealed a
decent sounding specs sheet in the process.

The Lenovo X2 will be available in two versions with
model names X2-CU and X2-TO. The X2-CU is
powered by an octa-core CPU, presumably residing in
a MediaTek chipset, while the X2-TO packs a 2.2GHz
dual-core processor. This is the only difference between the two
as both feature a 5" 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and
32GB of storage.

At the back, both Lenovo X2 versions feature a 13MP snapper
with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. Their dimensions
are 140.2 x 68.6 x 7.27mm and the overall design is a bit
reminiscent of Sony's Xperia Z-series of phones.
With the certification process done with, Lenovo should launch
the Android 4.4 running phones soon enough.

What’s considered a good CTR is a hard figure
to nail down. It’s against Google’s policies for
publishers to publicly discuss the results they
have with the AdSense program. So, despite
the fact that you may have seen discussions
about it on the Internet, you should avoid suit.
Still, it helps to have a general idea of what you
can expect.

The thing to remember is that those numbers
are in no way official or accurate. They’re
whispers heard and accurate only to the specific cases
and circumstances in which they
actually happened. A wide variety of factors
can affect your CTR, from placement of the ads
and the amount of traffic on your Web site to
the mood of site visitors in a given day and the
colors of the ads themselves.

All these factors are variables that change
often. To further cloud the picture, fluctuations
in the popularity of certain keywords, changes
in the budgets of advertisers, and the ways in
which those advertisers choose to write their
ads have to be considered.

To some extent, your click-through-rate is
dependent upon the advertiser. If the advertiser
isn’t doing his homework and properly targeting his ads,
your click-through-rates could be affected because the
ads won’t appeal to your site visitors.

Keep in mind that whatever keywords you choose should

Nexus 9-far detailed

Nexus tablet we've been treated to more than one leak
about the coveted Nexus 9. The latest one is from
hardware-assessing app CPU-Z, which confirms the SoC in charge
of the tablet is the latest Nvidia Tegra K1 64-bit.

We've already suspected the tablet will carry a 64-bit Nvidia
chip and with two leaks behind it, the rumors seem plausible
to say the least. The Tegra K1 inside the Nexus 9 will have a
top clock speed of 2.5GHz which is higher than the 2.2GHz
non-64-bit Tegra K1 we benchmarked and found to top
charts, especially in the graphics department.

Nvidia claims its Tegra K1 chip is 1.5 times more efficient
than its competition which should translate into reasonable
battery life despite the immense power within. The Tegra K1
has a 192-core GPU based on the desktop-grade Kepler
architecture and Nvidia's Cuda cores. As for the Nexus 9, it's
rumored to have a 4:3 aspect 1440 x 2048 pixel 8.9" display
of 281ppi, 8MP camera and the latest Android L from Google.

Amazon Fire phone commands around 0.015% of ad serving
in the US for the last 20 days of Chitika's research.

Coupled with the comScore data that in the three months
ending June 2014 there were between 173m and 175m
phones active in the US some have estimated that the Amazon
Fire phone has only ended up in the hands of around 26
thousand users. Amazon released its Fire phone exclusively
on AT&T's network for $199 but there were no official
numbers given since then as is usual for Amazon. After
some elaborate number crunching, the source points that
if not all Fire Phone users are active online the 26 thousand
units may rise to 35 thousand - because the people who
aren't online don't show up on the survey.

Either way, the number is far lower than the Kindle tablets
and clearly point that the phone is enjoying less than
great reception. Again no official numbers have
been given and as the estimates above are vague
as it is the Fire phone could very well have sold slightly more.

what the sub 8" tablet will be all about. According to the source
of the information, the tablet packs an 8" or a tad smaller IPS
display of 1080p resolution. It packs Sony's Triluminos screen
with the X-Reality picture processing engine and an additional layer
to decrease reflection. Under the hood, the Xperia Z3 Tablet
Compact is said to feature a Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC
chipset with a quad-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of
internal storage. There's no information whether a microSD card
slot is available, but Sony fitting one is more likely than not.

At the back, the tablet features an 8MP camera with an Exmor
RS sensor, presumably with LED flash. The battery is rated in
the 4500-5000mAh range the LG G Pad 8.3 has a 4600mAh
one and connectivity is comprehensive with LTE, NFC,
Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-FI 802.11ac.

We have a bit more than a week left to find out if the
Sony Z3 Tablet Compact will have the aforementioned specs
and if it can hold a candle to its rivals

on top of what's otherwise stock Android 4.4 KitKat, with
some Samsung TouchWiz – err – touches.

simply collect all reading content on your device or in Nook

Richard Linklater’s incredibly well received film Boyhood is becoming
a bigger and bigger indie box office success. Ever since it debuted to
an almost religious response at the Sundance Film Festival back in
January, we’ve known that the movie would be a critical favorite.
The question was always if the flick would be seen by anyone outside
of the niche independent audience that goes to art houses and pays
attention to reviews. Well, I’m here to say that Boyhood is being
seen by way more folks than that, which is only helping it become
a more and more viable Oscar player. It’s made $10.5 million and
there’s plenty more to come. The movie was never going to be an
easy sell. A nearly three hour coming of age story that rewards
patience and noticing subtle changes? Yeah, that doesn’t sound like
an indie sensation to me either, but here we are. Boyhood is
currently the third highest grossing film of all time for IFC Films
and while the over $241 million that My Big Fat Greek Wedding
made isn’t attainable, we’re very close to Linklater’s flick passing
the $13.8 million of Y Tu Mama Tambien for second place.
A final gross well over $20 million seems to be in the cards.
Many a Best Picture nominee has had a gross far lower than that.
If things do break the right way for this contender, then we could
see Linklater finally win an Oscar. Most likely, that would be in
the Best Original Screenplay category, though the filmmaker could
at long last be honored with a nod in Best Director. Other potential
noms are in Best Picture obviously, Best Actor for Ellar Coltrane,
Best Supporting Actor fro Ethan Hawke, Best Supporting Actress
for Patricia Arquette, Best Cinematography, and Best Film Editing
as well. A half dozen citations are not out of the question here.
At the same time, I must stress again that this isn’t your typical awards
player and we really don’t know how it will be received by Oscar voters,
especially if some of the buzz had died down by the time they see it.

American Sniper, which Bradley Cooper stars in and has championed
to the big screen. Cooper in fact initially had Steven Spielberg lined up
to direct, but when he had to step away, Eastwood came on board and
seemingly has utilized his efficient filmmaking techniques and gotten the
project ready for release this year. Instead of coming out in 2015,
American Sniper now is prepping for an Oscar qualifying release at
the end of December. For those of you unaware what American
Sniper is about, it’s an adaptation of the novel by Chris Kyle, a
Navy SEAL who recorded over 150 kills as a sniper before
tragically dying on home turf in a shooting accident. Cooper will
play Kyle, while the supporting cast includes the likes of Kyle
Gallner, Lucas Grimes, Sam Jaeger, Sienna Miller, and more.
The screenplay is by Jason Dean Hall and of course Eastwood
is behind the camera. There’s certainly some potential here for
awards attention, no doubt about that. Back when Eastwood
made Million Dollar Baby, this same release strategy was used
to great effect. That was another film that initially wasn’t on the
calendar, but then snuck up on folks. I remember the late Roger
Ebert being one of the first to talk about it, saying it was going to
win Best Picture, and go figure…it did. It also won Best Actress
for Hilary Swank and Best Director for Eastwood, so I’m sure
the powers that be are hoping that the same thing can happen
here, just substituting Cooper into the Best Actor field instead.
If this film is good, one can certainly see it contending in the Best Picture
, Best Director for Eastwood, Best Actor for Cooper, Best Supporting
Actor for Grimes perhaps, Best Supporting Actress for Miller,
Best Adapted Screenplay, and various technical Oscar categories.
My guess is that Best Picture and Best Actor will be the major plays,
as Cooper could look to turn his potential third nomination into his
first Academy Award win. That’s just a hunch, but it’s not a total
shot in the dark either.

Robin Williams-the Best Performances

The death of Robin Williams hit myself and most of the industry harder
than a celebrity’s passing usually does. Part of it has to do with the fact
that it was a suicide, but more than anything it’s just the loss of such a
beacon of happiness and humor. Williams struggled with depression,
but he made it his mission in life to bring joy to others. As such, I couldn’t
not pay tribute to the man, but I wanted to be able to take a little bit of
time and think about his work before doing this article. Below you’ll find
Williams’ ten best performances, not counting his genius stand up work,
of course. 10. World’s Greatest Dad – An incredibly dark comedy,
Williams does some very underrated work in a project that’s really hard
to watch now. It involves themes that will hit too close to home, but one
day we’ll be able to approach this one again and I hope more people
will realize how good he was in it. It’s a black comedy, but Williams
anchors it in emotion. 9. Moscow on the Hudson – Another under
seen film (and one that has sort of been forgotten ever since The Terminal
came out, consider some similarities in plot, Williams got to show range
in this one. I hope folks seek this one out now, as it deserves a second look.
He’s quite good here, I assure you. 8. Insomnia – The only time Williams
went and played a full on villain, and boy is he chilling.

He does it in such a calm way, you’re just unnerved. This is a “lesser”
Christopher Nolan outing to most, but Williams is easily the best part
of it. He aces his part. 7. The Fisher King – Perhaps Terry Gilliam’s
crowning achievement or at least his most underrated, Williams
gets to mix his manic energy with some real pathos here. There’s his
trademark comedy, for sure, but he’ll also break your heart before
all is said and done. This is one of the best mixes of his talents and
an absolute must watch. 6. One Hour Photo – It was such a startling
sight to see Williams playing such a restrained figure like this one.
A tragic villain of sorts, he’s so tightly coiled you keep waiting for him to strike.
