Making Money by Hosting Advertising

Making Money by Hosting Advertising

CPC—cost per click—advertising is one
of the most common ways to make money by
accepting ads on your site. With CPC, an
advertiser pays a fee when someone clicks its
link on your site, and you get a portion of
that fee.Make website as seo friendly.
Tthere are some seo tips for blogging.
CPC ads are mostly although they
don’t have to be text-only. While CPC is
most commonly associated with advertising
using programs such as AdWords, the
concept of CPC is fundamental to both search
based AdWords and content hosted via
 programs such as Google AdSense.

The idea of making ads contextual—
that is, relevant to the content of the web page
near the ad—is closely bound with CPC
advertising. CPC ads that are contextual are
much more effective, and generate more
revenue for a site owner, than ads that are not
contextual. But it is worth bearing in mind
that you can have CPC ads that are not
contextual, and conversely, contextual ads
that pay on some other basis than CPC.

Ad unit
A group of ads, often from one to six text-
only contextual ads, but sometimes only
presenting links to the actual ads. Typically,
ad units are served off the site of the
advertising agency example, Google.
This is most often accomplished using
a script. You get the code on the agency website.

Click
A click occurs when a site visitor to your
web page clicks on a link in an ad that
was served by an ad unit on your site.
 Not all clicks generate revenue.
The click is the basis for all CPC ad
programs and an extremely important metric.

Effective cost per thousand impressions -eCPM
eCPM is a way to compare revenue from
different kinds of advertising. eCPM is
calculated by dividing the total earnings from
an ad by its impressions in thousands.
In other words, a nominal or theoretic
cost is calculated on a CPC ad as if it were
a CPM ad. You can use this calculation to
compare CPC revenue with CPM revenue
to see which is a better deal, given your site
 content and traffic.

The basis of CPC advertising is having
visitors to your website click the links presented
to them by ads. People are likely to notice
ads, and click on ad links, only if the content
of the ad is relevant to their current interests.
This leads to the notion of contextually
relevant advertising

where to place your google AdSense Ads on website

where to place your google AdSense Ads on website

When deciding where to place your
advertising, consider whether your
advertising hinders the usability of
 your blog pages

In-text ads:These are contextual ads
that hyperlink words in your content
to ads. When you hover over those
words, they pop up with an advertisement.
They tend to look unprofessional and
spammy, especially when a lot of words
within a blog post are linked. Also,
in-text ads sometimes apply links to
 words completely out of context.

Autoplaying ads:Avoid any advertising
that automatically plays videos
with sound or music. These types of ads
 interrupt the visitor from
exploring your site or reading your content.

Intrusive ads:This type of ad can include
 anything from pop-overs and
pop-unders ads that display in a
new browser window underneath the
current browser window to those ads
that sweep over your blog when
someone hovers over them.
Be wary of using ads that do this because
they interfere with your content being
read. Most browsers have pop-up blockers
so pop-up ads may not be displayed, anyway.

Oddly placed ads within blog posts:Oftentimes,
bloggers place text or banner ads within
their blog post. This is fine when done
well, but make sure that the size or the
location of the ad doesn’t affect the
ability to actually read the post.A very large
ad at the bottom of your post content
could separate your content too far from
your comment section, making it less
easy for visitors to comment. Also, check your
text-based ads to ensure they don’t look
too much like the blog post. Otherwise,
you might frustrate or confuse the reader..

Marketing Your Site with google

Google explicitly states that sites created
through Page Creator will not be given
preferential treatment in its search engine
result listings. The most effective way to
advertise your site is to provide links to
other, similarly-oriented Web pages.
You lookup such sites using Google’s
own search engine. If you sell flower
arrangements, for instance, look up sites
that sell plant food or flower pots.
In addition to using Google’s AdWords.

you should look around for other places
online to which you think linking would be
 appropriate. Don’t hesitate to contact
their webmasters and see if they’ll link back
to your site. The more connections you
make, the better a chance you have of
getting noticed.

A Web site’s life blood is the community
that frequents it. Think about fast-rising and
hugely successful sites like YouTube, Flickr,
or MySpace. They all built their successes
on creating an environment that kept users
coming back for more. The bestway to
accomplish this is to create a Web page
where people feel that they have stake
in its existence: you want visitors to have
a sense that they are, in some way visiting
not just your site, but their site, too.

Page Creator is primarily intended to
make it quick and easy for you to publish
content online. It’s not intended to let your
visitorsadd their content. But you can still
add such features to a site you create with Page
Creator by creating them with other programs
and linking them to your site. And you
can always create a blog with Google, which
includes the ability to let visitors comment
on your postings. The best approach for now
would be to welcome user feedback and respond
in a timely manner, plus regular updates.

AdSense gives anyone with a Web site the
ability to place ads there from Google.
Google makes sure the ads relate in some
way to the content on the Web page. You’ve
probably seen AdSense ads before; they’re
the contextual ads that often appear in a
block of two or three and are often lined up
 vertically on the page.

targeted cpc Google’s AdSense program

targeted cpc Google’s AdSense program

• Understand the logic behind CPC and
contextual ad programs
• Get to know the terminology of the web
 advertising business
• Create a realistic plan based on the
revenue you can expect from CPC advertising
with google adsense secrets.
• Understand both the power and pitfalls
 of contextual relevance
• Consider the architecture of web
serving of ad units
• Make a comparison of CPC ad
unit vendors
• Enroll your site in a CPC ad program

• Grab the code to use for your ad units

• Use server-side includes so that the CPC ad
code is replicated across your site
• Choose ad formats and colors to match or
complement your site design
• If your site has enough volume to make it
feasible, investigate CPM advertising
programs

Display and Banner Ads
There’s nothing to stop display and banner
ads from being contextually related to the
text they accompany, and obviously it is
often a good idea. However, text ads—which
usually come in groups and have, by definition,
 text—present a greater opportunity
for effective contextual relevance.

With CPM cost per thousand impressions
advertising, you get paid a fee, based  on
thousands of impressions, when an ad is
displayed on your site. This is the kind
of web advertising that is the most like traditional
media advertising.

Once you’ve chosen the kinds of ads
you want to serve, you can choose
ad formats—meaning the size of the
ad unit and number of ads—and colors
 for your site.

CPC ad programs other than Google and Yahoo.
While Google’s AdSense program works
astonishingly well for many smaller publishers,
there are some reasons publishers might like
to investigate working with one of
AdSense’s smaller competitors:
• You’d like more control over the ads that
appear on your site, perhaps even to the
extent of approving each ad before it can be
 served on your web pages.
• Your site features content that is not
acceptable to Google, such as adult content.
• You’d like to understand exactly what
advertisers are paying for the ads and exactly
how much commission is being deducted;
maybe you’d like to approve some ads
only if the price is right.
• You want to make sure you have a viable
alternative to Google in case something
goes wrong with your Google account.

AdSense-getting Targeted Traffic

Getting Targeted Traffic by building pages
that please the Search Engines and
rank highly on a search results page.
The higher the ranking, the easier it is for
interested and targeted traffic to find you.
More traffic means more potential
sales, which means more potential
commissions for you.

Traffic-building, no matter how you cut
it, will cost you... in terms of both time and
money. Spending dollars is optional,
 but spending time is not.

There are many ways, both offline and on,
to drive targeted traffic to your
merchants’ sites. This course will show
you the most highly profitable,
time-and dollar-effective way to build
traffic to your merchants' sites...
Build your own Theme-Based Content Site
one that is loaded with high infovalue
Keyword-Focused Content Pages that
rank well with the Search Engines
and that get the “click throughs” to your
merchants’ sites.

Rank well at the Search Engines so that it
pulls in lots of targeted traffic. So
far, though, that traffic is still on yoursite.
 Therefore, it’s not generating income
yet.

Get those visitors to click through to
 your merchants.Some affiliate
program models can actually place merchant
offerings on yourWeb site. In this
case, your traffic does not actually visit
your merchant’s site.

Your AdSense income is affected by many
different factors, including how much
advertisers are willing to pay for ads
and how much Google decides to take
for its trouble. As for factors that you,
as an AdSense user, can actually affect,
site design, of all things, is probably the
most important because the design of your
site affects the way that search engines rank the
site in search results.
The higher your site ranks, the more traffic that hits
your Web site, which means potentially
more AdSense tips for income .

Traffic translates into page views, and page
views translate into clicks of your
AdSense ads. The more clicks you get,
the better your income. Naturally, you
want to do everything you can to increase
traffic to your site. Search engine
optimization is your first step.

Image ads, like text ads, need to blend
into the surrounding elements of your
page as much as possible. You don’t
want to make them invisible — if that’s
your goal, you might as well not put any
ads on your site. If you can make
them appear as if they belong on your
page, your site visitors will be less
likely to shun them completely.

Video ads
Video ads are one of the newest additions
 to the AdSense family. Technically,
though, the ad is notthe video. Yes, videos
 are streamed for advertising
partners that have YouTube accounts,
but the actual ads are displayed in the
video player that’s embedded in your
 content.

Google Advertising tools

Every business and businessperson needs to
know how to position advertising with
AdWords
, and should consider how to
capitalize on the money making potential of AdSense.
Effective use of both programs requires a practical
mastery of a number of related issues, including
how to create an effective Internet marketing plan,
 implement Search  Engine  Optimization  SEO,
understand  the  structure  of  search,
and  track results  using  programs  such  as
  Google  Analytics.  Besides  covering
AdSense  and AdWords.
If your site has a great deal of traffic, then
the site’s traffic is  broad. Google itself is a
prime  example  of  a  broad-traffic  site;
people  use  Google  to  search  for  a
 myriad  of different things.

From Google’s viewpoint, the AdSense
program represents a way to extend the pages
that host its ads from its own search results
pages across the entire Web. The result of
this extension has been the creation of an
excellent mechanism for monetizing content
and traffic.

Google will review  the website address
you provide for compliance with the content
policies of the AdSense program. It is common
for Google to reject websites for noncompliance
 with content provisions of the AdSense policies;
as I’ve already noted, the prohibitions are fairly
broad and exclude a variety of “sinful” content,
ranging from excessive advertising content or
adult content to content about hacking—and even
prohibit content using excessive profanity.
If you plan to host AdSense, your site had
better not promote sin or even cuss words.

It’s pretty simple, really, to fill out the AdSense
form; as these things go, it is not a lot
of red  tape.  Once you’ve entered the
information required to sign up with AdSense,
you must associate it with a Google account.
There are two ways to do this:
• You can associate your AdSense application
with an existing Google account, such
as one you use with Gmail or AdWords.
• You can create a new Google account

AdSense for Content Ad Settings

Once your AdSense account has been approved,
you’ll likely want to get started by
adding the code that will place Google’s ads
on your site. To get started with AdSense
for Content, log in to Google AdSense and
 click the Ad Settings tab.

Working with AdSense
• Use the color palette to match your site.
If you do this, it is speculated, some users
may click on the ads because they think they
are part of your site, not ads.

• Make a color choice that starkly contrasts
with your site. By doing this, the ads are
made more noticeable, and thus it is more
likely that they may be clicked.

Channels are a mechanism for keeping
track of which part of a site—or which site, if
you are managing multiple sites in one
AdSense account—is generating clicks.
Custom channelsare channels that you
define in advance of ad deployment.

Where to Place AdSense Ads on Your Pages
Publishers may well wonder where they
should place AdSense ads on their pages for
the best results. There’s a great deal of
speculation about AdSense ad placement in
webmaster circles, but not much hard data.

It is clear that ads placed above the fold
—meaning in the top third of the page where
they will be seen on any computer monitor
without scrolling down—do better than
ads placed lower on a page.
The best performing AdSense ad format and
position is Leaderboard.

 AdWords Activity
Some AdWords users prefer to set the
 Campaign Summary page as the
first page that opens, rather than the
Account Snapshot page. You can
make this change by clicking the link
on the bottom of either the Campaign
 Summary or Account Snapshot pages.

Campaign status  can  be Active, Paused,
or Deleted. If a campaign is Active, ad
groups within the campaign can be Paused.
 Paused campaigns are campaigns that
are not running, but can be reactivated
and set to Active. The number of Paused
ad groups within a campaign will be displayed
 below the campaign’s status.

Tools Beyond AdSense for Tracking

AdSense for Tracking

It’s nice to have independent verification
of Google’s numbers and also better
analysis tools of visitor behavior than the
AdSense reports provide. You now have
the option of linking your account to Google Analytics.
To  get  third-party  information  about
your  traffic,  a  good  starting  place  is
to  visit Alexa. On Alexa, click the Traffic
Rankings tab. Enter your site domain in the
box and click Get Traffic Details.
The Related Info page for your site will open.
Next, in the Explore this Site box, click the
 Traffic Details link.

Alexa metrics For Adsense

You can use the Alexa metrics as a reality
check in terms of whether it agrees with
Google that your page views are going up
or down over time, but you cannot use
Alexa as an absolute measure of anything
because of how the Alexa statistics are compiled.
Alexa’s  page-view  metrics  are  based  on
  information  uploaded  from  a  small
toolbar, mostly installed by business users.
This information is notoriously flawed for
consumer sites, particularly ones without
high traffic.

Listening to Web Logs
Depending on  your  web host, you should
have access to a number of tools used to
generate usable information from your web
logs files. Web log analysis is the first and
best place to look for data in addition to that
 supplied by Google.

If you are set in the AdSense program, you should:
• Track  progress  by  regularly  displaying  reports—perhaps  as  often  as  daily—to
monitor your AdSense tips for Content and Search performance as well as AdSense for
Domains
• Use custom reports or URL channels to display results to get a better handle on
performance on different parts of your site or sites
• Download CSV files to crunch your own data
• Use the optimization tips provided to increase your AdSense revenue
• Check the Site Diagnostics page and fix any problems indicated
• Learn to use the web traffic analysis programs available to you to get a better understanding of how your site is performing in relation to the AdSense program
• If  your  business  justifies  the  trouble  (and  expense),  consider  more  robust  web
analytic software
• Make sure you link your Google Analytics and Google AdSense accounts

Getting Open Directory Project Listings
The Open Directory Project -ODP is the most
 important taxonomic directory on the
Web. Formally hosted and administered by
the Netscape division of AOL, the ODP is
run along the lines of an open source project
and is inspired by the  Debian Social
Contract.
The credo behind the ODP is  that web
automated search is ineffective and getting
worse, and that the small contingent of paid
editors at commercial web search engine
companies cannot keep up with the staggering
rate of change on the Web—decaying,
stagnant sites; link rot; new sites; sites intended
as search spam; and so on.

The ODP is run and maintained by a vast
army of volunteer editors. These editors
follow internal checks and balances to
preserve the integrity of the directory.
 http://dmoz.org/guidelines  for more
 information about the ODP review
process and guidelines for site inclusion.

Here are some of the highlights of Google’s editorial strictures:
• Use proper spelling and grammar.
• Ad content and  seo keywords must directly relate
 to the destination web page.
• Local services must indicate their location in their ads.
• No exclamation points in the ad headline and only one in the ad text.
• No unnecessary capitalization or repetition.

Google AdSense tips for website

Getting traffic online this is the main fact.
he simplest ways in which you can drive traffic
 to your site immediately.

having good content is the single most important
determinant in where a site stands in search
rankings and whether the site draws traffic.

A site that draws traffic is a potential money maker
Just remember the more things that you do on
the list below the better results you will
have with the traffic to your website. Hopefully
after you are done reading threw this article you can
get busy on the promotion of your website.

Here are the few best ways to get traffic to
 your landing pages:
- Forum Participation
Article Marketing
Social Bookmarking
Myspace
Press Releases
Classified Ads
Viral Marketing
All of these forms of traffic combined can explode
your sites traffic within days. When choosing the
proper sites in which you want to work with to create
your traffic, make sure you choose the ones that
are highly ranked within Google. That way you can
easily get first page results for your website. I ama
firm believer of article marketing myself. You don't
necessarily have to use that form of traffic if
you don't want to but it will help you out in thelong
run for creating many back links to your site.
Just always remember that consistency is always
to best attitude to have when you have your own
business online. You have to stay devoted and on
task when you are promoting your sites. Promotion is
the most important part about making money online.

Create Links - Getting links to your website
from other websites will help generate more traffic and
improve your placement in search engines.
Find other websites on your same topic and
put a link to them on your site  maybe in a new
Favorite Links page. Then ask those websites
to link back to you by signing their guestbook.

Tag your Site - Adding tags can increase the
number of times your website shows up in search
results. To pick the right keywords, try putting
yourself in the shoes of your visitors and think what
they would search for if they wanted to find your site.

JavaScript - If you are using JavaScript code,
it can certainly help you spice up your web site.
However, there are many scripts that your
visitors may find irritating. Try to avoid
scripts such as mouse trailers, mouseover
sounds, mouseover pop up windows and
 mouseover redirects.

Keep it Simple - Make sure the design is simple
,clear and pleasing to the eyes.

AdSense gives anyone with a Web site the
ability to place ads there from Google.
Google makes sure the ads relate in some
way to the content on the Web page.
AdSense also gives you the option to add
a search box to your site. This enables
your visitors to perform a search and turn
up search results that complement your
own content. In either case, if someone
clicks on one of the ads you display, you earn
a bit of revenue. You are paid either using
the cost-per-click or CPC model or the
cost-per-thousand-impressions or CPM model.

Sprinkling Keywords
Google indexes your page’s content in order
to determine which ads need to be placed there.
It’s to your advantage to attract AdSense ads
that are directly relevant to your page topic.
The more relevant your ads are, the more likely
someone will click on one of them and earn
you some money.

Consider inviting your customers to generate
some of your Web site’s new content.
‘‘My customers are often my greatest source of
creative input,’’ the owner of one online
greeting card company told me. ‘They come
up with great ideas and uses for my products.’
Invite your customers for suggestions and
comments about your site, and ask for ideas
about products and services they are looking
 for; they arelikelytocomeupwith plenty of
suggestions that never occurred to you on
your own.

The size and format of the ad you pick
 should complement your page layout:
if you have a single column of content,
you might choose the horizontal option.
If your page is divided into several
narrow columns, the vertical format is
probably preferable. If you want ads to
appear on multiple pages, you need to
add the HTML code to each page separately.

Using AdSense for Search
In AdSense for search, you don’t display ads
as such. You place a search box on your
Web page and allow people do conduct a
search on Google without actually leaving
your site. The search results appear in their
 own box.

custom channel. This channel is a content
segment that you can use to track ad
performance. Some channels, like URL
channels, can be used to track clicks on
all the ads presented on a Web page or
part of a Web site.A custom channel is
one that you set up with your own criteria,
and probably most useful once you have
been advertising for a while and have many
kinds of ads on your site. You can track
ads that have borders versus no borders,
ads that use red as an accent color versus
 blue, and other qualities.

keyword analysis, of course, is something you
should do in any case if you are interested
in promoting a site. As a simple example,
if you were trying to find out how a site with
a directory of dentists fared in search rankings,
you could enter the word dentistin Google search
and see where the site is returned in the results.

Ad units display ads directly on your pages,
where they are probably more likely to be
clicked than link units. Link units are, in some
ways, one step removed; a link unit
presents links to ads rather than the ads themselves.
But the advantage of the link unit is that it takes up
almost no space and the ad pages can contain many ads.

Increase your blog Traffic

Top 10 ways you can improve and increase traffic to your blog

1. Keep it Simple - Make sure the design is
simple, clear and pleasing to the eyes. Don't
overcrowd it.
2. Multiple Pages - If possible, divide the blog into
several pages and access them through separate
items links on a menu or navigation bar.
3. Be consistent - Have same menu or some
extensionof it on all pages so that viewers know where
they are at all times. Home is a must on
every page. Visitors should be able to easily look
around your website. If visitors are frustrated andcan't
find what they are looking for, they are likely to
leave quickly and never come back or recommend your blog
to others. The menu can be located at
the top, left or right side of the page.
4. Keep Content Fresh - Static content is dead
content; Write new articles, update old ones. New or
updated content is a great way to keep visitors
coming back. Search engines also rank websites with
fresh content higher. Keeping an active blog is a
great way to keep your website new and fresh.
5. Use Descriptive File Names - Use descriptive
keywords as names for the files e.g., pictures, videos
on your site. This will help your site appear more with
search engines - especially through Google
Image Search.
6. Create Links - Getting links to your website from
other websites will help generate more traffic and
improve your placement in search engines. Find
other websites on your same topic and put a link to
them on your site -- maybe in a new "Favorite Links" page.
Then ask those websites to link back to you
by signing their guestbook.
7. Tag your Site - Adding tags can increase the
number of times your website shows up in search
results. To pick the right keywords, try putting
yourself in the shoes of your visitors and think what
they would search for if they wanted to find your site.
8. JavaScript - If you are using JavaScript code, it can
certainly help you spice up your web site.
However, there are many scripts that your visitors
may find irritating. Try to avoid scripts such as
mouse trailers, mouseover sounds, mouseover pop up
windows and mouseover redirects.
9. Help Visitors Contact You - Make it simple for
visitors to reach you if they want. Include a
guestbook or blog where they can post questions.
Add a "contact us" form where they can submit
questions to you via email.

Adsensetips for traffic factors

Understanding search engine optimization
Conquering keyword marketing
Creating valuable link structures
Improving click-through-rates
Using metatags to improve search engine rankings

Advanced google adsense optimization is a lot like trying
to catch the steam that you breathe on a cold
winter day. You can see it. You know it exists,
but there’s no way to actually contain and
quantify the steam. You can see the results
of SEO and you can figure out how best to
achieve it, but it’s still possible to do everything
right and not achieve the ultimate goal —
landing the very first listing on a search engine
 results page, or SERP.

Web crawlers are programs that travel around
the Internet examining and categorizing Web
pages by keyword. That’s how search engines,
like Google, know to return your Web site when
someone searches for a specific keyword or phrase.
The crawler has already had a look-see and has
placed your Web page into a category along with
all the other sites on the Web that fit into that category.

After you put up a Web site, a search crawler
— a specialized software program
that examines Web sites and categorizes them
by keyword — finds your Web
site. Search crawlers are designed to crawl
every Web site within parameters
that are outlined by the search crawler’s designer.
A designer could order a search crawler to,
say, examine Web sites contained on a list drawn by the
designer.

While the crawler makes its way through
a site, it records the number of times a
keyword, a keyphrase, or a set of
keywords is used on the site.

That’s just the short list. If you really put
some time into brainstorming the
SEO topic, you could come up with a
 couple hundred words.

Start with a list of 50–100 keywords.
You won’t use all the keywords,
but the list gives you a good point from
which to narrow the words that
are most likely used to find your Web site.

Don’t use more than three words on a
single page.Also, only use three
words if they’re all contained within a phrase
It’s better to use one word
or phrase per page on your Web site, but
each page can have a different word or phrase.
Avoid words that are overused.

Overused words are obvious search
terms, but they’re also the most
competitive terms and can cost a fortune
if you’re targeting them for advertisements.

Select the Right Keywords
Google AdSense Ads that show  on the basic of  your
web pages are determined by many keyfactors,You need to do some
keyword research then the Google display relevant ads.

Link Share-Share the website link every where for more visitors

Contextual: Uses such factors as keyword analysis, word frequency,
font size, and the overall link structure of the Web site to determine
what a Web page is about and to precisely match ads to each page.

Placement: Advertisers choose specific ad placements sections of
specific Web sites they’ve take a shine to on which to run their ads.
Ads that are placement-targeted may not exactly jive with the content of
your page, but they’re hand-picked by advertisers who believe there’s
a match between what your users are interested in and what the
advertiser is advertising. For the privilege of making these specific choices,
the advertiser pays a slightly higher fee.
As a publisher, you benefit because you’ll be paid every time
someone comes to your site and sees
the ad rather than by the number of times the ad is clicked.

AdSense income key factors

Traffic translates into page views, and page views translate into clicks of your
AdSense ads. The more clicks you get, the better your income. Naturally, you
want to do everything you can to increase traffic to your site. Search engine
optimization is your first step. Ensure that your site is optimized for search
engines, and the traffic on your Web site will increase dramatically as your
search engine rankings rise.

AdSense optimized content-placement

AdSense optimized  placement basics

With the ad placement basics out of the way,
it’s time to figure out how to convince the good
folks at Google AdSense to place ads on your Web site
that have meaning to your site visitors.
Your ultimate goal by implementing AdSense is to
entice visitors to click or view the ads that appear on your
page. That only happens, though, if the ads are appealing to
 visitors. Having
the right content is the key to having the right ads.
The technology behind Google AdSense
 Web crawlers, spyders, and bots
diligently scouring the World Wide Web
for info tries its best to determine
the content of your site, but it ain’t perfect.

if you have a thing for free association so that
articles on any given page jump from one topic
to another with no cohesion, AdSense will have
a much harder time placing relevant ads on your page.

The most important principle behind SEO involves
making sure that you design your Web site so that it’s
both useful and relevant to visitors. Site visitors will
come to your site either by conducting a search for
a specific topic or by directly typing your Web address
into the address bar of their browser.
If you design your Web site with the intent of
providing something the visitor needs, search
crawlers are more likely to classify your site
properly. As an added bonus, you’ll probably
also end up ranking higher in the search results.

the Google crawler knows
its stuff when it comes to pushing content-specific
ads to your site. It may not even be the content
that you’re worried about.

Offline Marketing-Adsense-Social Media Marketing

Social marketing is a relatively new concept
 that’s based on a phenomenon that’s grown
despite the fact that no marketing experts
saw it coming, and it’s all based on social
networks, such as those brought into being by
MySpace and Facebook.

The idea with social networks is that
you have an online community where
you can connect and share with people
who have the same interests that you
do. For some, that might be an interest
in specific people or hobbies. For
others, the interest could surround employment
or education. What’s important is that a
social network lets you create a circle of like
-minded friends and acquaintances — also
called a community. For example, with MySpace, the
concept is to build a home page where you
and your friends can connect.
You can also connect with others who are
potential friends because they can
view your MySpace page and learn about
 you and your interests.

If you’re marketing with social networking,
create your network, and as you have
something to market, share it with that
group of friends in your community.
They then share it with their friends, and
before you know it, a network that’s
far beyond the group you could reach on
your own knows what you’re doing.

Here’s the catch with social media marketing
though: If you develop a social
network specifically to sell something to
the people in that network, you’ll fall
right on your face. Really. Social networks
are created by people who have
something to share with other people who
think like them. If you barge into the
network with a sales pitch and nothing more,
 you’ll be completely ostracized.

f you really want to see how social media
 marketing works, check out some
of the organizations that have successful
sites on MySpace or Facebook —
Christian bands like Three Days Grace,
for example. To get to the point
where a social media marketing strategy
is successful requires a lot of effort
and attention, but the results can be very
much worth the time you put into
developing your place on the network.

AdSense allows website owners to earn money
from their sites in a way that they couldn't do
before. All they have to do is put the AdSense
code in their pages, and some visitors to the site
will click on the ads that are displayed. The more
visitors a site gets, the more people will click on
the ads, and the more money the site owner will
make. Because the ads are contextual, they match
the content of the pages they are displayed on, which
suits the advertisers because it drives people who are
interested in their topic to their sites, and they only pay
when people click on their ads.

Everyone is happy. Google makes lots of money,
advertisers get lots of targeted traffic and only pay for
ad impressions when someone clicks on them, Web
users can find more things that they are interested in,
and website owners can make anything from a small
amount of money to a very large amount of money.
Even the earnings from tiny websites can often offset
or pay for the upkeep of the sites - hosting, for instance.
Google created a system where everyone is a winner, and
if people hadn't taken advantage of it in ways that weren't
intended, everyone would still be happy.

Google announced a new ad format for Google AdSense
display ad units named magazine ads.
So instead of the display ad looking like a banner
ad with animation or various popping colors,
magazine ads are very minimalistic.
Google said they "designed with print magazine
ads in mind, putting a big emphasis on space and
typography and displaying a new look distinctive
from our regular text ads."

The ads certainly are more attractive
than the usual AdSense text ads.Google made it
"easier" to make AdSense ad units by refreshing
the interface and speeding things up within that interface.

The 300 x 1050 skyscraper might work on long pages,
but the 970 x 250 leaderboard seems a bit overwhelming.
And either one is going to look ugly unless it's a display ad
created for that size, as opposed to a slew of text ads or a
couple of 300 x 250 ad units floating in the space.

Traffic – We’ve covered this already in the series. You need
traffic, and specifically organic traffic, to stay competitive
and make the dollar bills go into your pocket.

Keyword Value – Specifically you need to understand how
much money you can make with keywords and how to evaluate their value.

Competition – You also need to understand and be able to
evaluate your competitive landscape and those that are
competing for the exact same keywords and ranks within the search engines.

Publishing Your Web Pages-AdSense-how-to

Your approach to creating Web pages for a
small Web site should be similar
to your approach to creating a single
Web home page. Each page should
stand alone as a worthwhile place for
your Web visitors to spend time, learn
something, or have some fun.

One of the best ways to create a strong Web
site is to first create each Web page separately.
Make sure that each page has the information
you want, that it downloads in a reasonable
amount of time, that all the links work, and that
the page looks good.

You may want to take the design consistency
of your Web site to another level by adding
repeated graphical elements and a strong,
consistent approach to layout across all your
Web pages. This is the approach taken by the pros. We
suggest that, unless you have some design experience .

Compare your planned site to similar or competing
sites and revise your plans accordingly.
Create your site on your own machine first and test it thoroughly.
Carefully choose a Web service provider that will do the
best job of hosting your site.

Get your site up on the Web and begin an ongoing
cycle of testing and revision.

• Decide how many pages to have and how they link to each other.
• Put the purpose of your site near the top of your home page.
• Indicate the purpose of each additional page near the top of that
page.
• Use headers, bullets, icons, and other graphical or emphasis elements to highlight key points.
• Think about what graphics you need. Start the process of generating or obtaining them.
• Use summary elements, such as a site map and a Frequently Asked
Questions FAQ page.
• Put navigational elements — links from your home page to other
pages in your site, and from other pages back to the home page —
in a consistent spot at the top or bottom of each page.

Earning with AdSense Ads

AdSense for Feeds doesn’t currently have a designation
on the AdSense Web site. In fact, if you’re not specifically
searching for the topic, you won’t ever
find it. And it’s not just the information that’s hard to locate.
Anything related to your earnings or the performance
of the ads is also non-existent.

At least for now, feed ads are tracked through
 AdSense for Content. I assume
that will change when the program is finally released
for general consumption. At that time, it’s most likely that
 — like other AdSense programs — feed
ads will have their own sections.

Until then, assigning a channel that’s specific to your
feed ads is the best way to track them. Since the
numbers for your ads will be lumped in with AdSense
for Content data, without a designated channel you’ll
never know what’s coming from your Web site or
blog and what’s coming from your feed.

AdSense for Feeds is such a great idea. There
are so many instances of dynamic, feed-enabled
content on the Web today that it only makes sense to
monetize that content. How long it will take for the
program to make the final cut and be released to
the general public is anyone’s guess, though. In the
meantime, keep working with your other AdSense ads

Understanding Referral Units

Recommending products and services to others
on the Web has been aconcept for as long as the
Web’s been around. Probably one the best known
referralprograms okay, referringto something in this
context is the same asrecommending it is the one
that Amazon.com offers for the books and other
products that are available to buyers around the world.
Everyone has seenthe little Amazon boxes on
Web sites that allow you to click through to buy
the featured product.

Google AdSense offers the same type of service.
The difference is thatAdSense offers the ability to
refer other programs or Web sites, rather than
just offer the products that you like. For example,
I use the Firefox Webbrowser, which is a personal
preference, but I love it and think everyone who
tries it will love it too. I include an AdSense referral
button for Firefox wherespace allows on my Web sites.
Then, each time a user clicks through thatreferral button
and downloads Firefox, I get a small payment added to my
AdSense revenues.

Referrals are a neat feature that can seriously help
to bump your AdSenseearnings if the referral ads
are targeted well to your Web site audience. The
key is in the targeting though, as you see when you
get a little deeper into thischapter. There are two
kinds of referral products — Google products
and nonGoogle products — so you’re
not as limited in what you can refer your users
to as you might be with other referral programs.

Adding Referrals to Your Web Pages

If you’ve already tried a few of the other AdSense
ad formats, you’ll soondiscover that creating referral
ads is a little bit different. Succinctly put, you
have lots of choices, but your choices are restricted.
I know, that doesn’tmake much sense on the face
of it, so let me put it another way: You can only
do so much stylistic customization with any individual
AdSense referral, butyou have plenty of referrals
to choose from, giving you the power to
customize which products you refer to your visitors.

Even the process of creating referral ads is a little different.
You don’t immediately start with a stylistic choice
for what kind of ad to create.

  • Google AdSense for Content - A variety of size and shape ads for placing in your content are available. These can be text or image ads or both - you specify what you'll allow. Ad units are full ads. Link units are simply a strip of text links that your visitors might want to click. Google allows you to put up to 3 Ad Units and 1 Link unit on each page of your Web site, provided you follow its policies - both for AdSense and for Webmasters.
  • Google AdSense for Search - This places a search box on your Web site. When a user enters a term and conducts a search, a search results page opens, that hosts more pay-per-click ads. You can customize the color scheme of the search results page to harmonize with your web site.
  • Google Referrals - Here you make money by referring visitors to use a Google product, like AdSense, AdWords, the Google Toolbar and other Google software. Just like Google AdSense for Content and AdSense for Search, Google generates the code that you paste into the desired location on your web page. You can choose from a wide variety of buttons and text links of different colors. As an example of how Google Referrals works, if someone goes to your site and clicks the link and signs up for an AdSense account, when that person earns a $100 from Google AdSense and receives a payout from Google, you'll also receive $100 for referring them. This is a great idea to me, because you can be the world's worst Google AdSense advertiser

Google Ad Sense Tips

Google Ad Sense Tips

  • Quality is the most important part of any web site. If your site does not contain the content of expected quality the visitor might not come back,
  • Although Google doesn't release exact details as to how they determine the ads to serve on a given page, they do say that it's the text content of the page that matters, not the meta tags.
  • Some webmasters are designing brand new sites specifically for serving AdSense text ads, however it’s against the AdSense rules to design a site purely for AdSense, so you’ll want to include a few Affiliate links or sell your own product, too.
  • A great resource for earning money is using traffic driving sites like Flixya You can sign up for Google Adsense and Flixya, without the costs or time needed to build traffic or your own site.
  • In early internet days, you may see a site notice asking everyone to click the ads. The day has gone long time ago. If Google detects possible cheating, there is no such thing as presumption of innocence. They assume that you are guilty.
  • Do not click your ads. If Google catches you, they will suspend your account and retain any earnings you might have. However, if you, by mistakes, click your ads for one or two times, Google will keep that earning but rather not to punish you as long as it doesn't happen constantly.
  • Google has a lot of restrictions on how the ads have to be displayed. One of the major reasons for account suspension is that webmasters tried to blur the ads and mislead others to think that it's "content". For simplicity, never attempt to use CSS to hide Google's logo unless you're authorized to do it!
  • If you don't have any content, Google will have to guess what your page is about. It may guess wrong, and so the ads that it displays may not be relevant.
  • Allow some ad slots to serve different sized creative depending on the viewport size.
  • Allow some ad slots to be hidden on different viewports  a wide layout might have 3 adslots, in mobile only a single ad.

How to Sign Up for Google AdSense

You must be atleast 18 years of age to participate in AdSense.
Your Payee Name needs to match the name on your bank account.
You must have a website to participate in this program (No Blogs, No Free Website or Free Domain).  You must have Paid Domain.  You have submit only the primary URL of your site.  Example: http://www.testdomain.com. Don’t submit URL like this http://www.testdomain.com/adsense.
You put Unique, Quality Content not copied from other sites or blogs with High Paying Keywords.  Your website atleast consists of 15 pages.
You website perfectly designed (it must be an attractive one) and your website complied with Google Webmaster Guidelines.
Before applying for AdSense you should make sure that your submit your Sitemap of your site to Google Webmaster Tools.
Promote your website through more than 600 free classifieds website available on Internet.  Promote your site offline also.
Post your website on forums.  Send your website through E-mail to your friends.  Submit your site to Alexa also.

Probably the best position of the advertisements is in the top / header of your site. However, this can break the consistency of your content, so you should be careful using such a solution. Other good locations are just below the navigation bar, above the footer and in the left menu area. You should always put yourself in the visitors' shoes and look to the web site from their point of view. If the ads block makes you feel uncomfortable while browsing the web site, you should consider a different position or formatting.
Additionally, you should define the number of the advertisement units per page. There are some restrictions about it. You are allowed to have up to three advertisement units per page (in addition to three link units and three referral units). If you have a web site with a lot of content, which requires the visitors to scroll down the pages or you manage a forum or a blog, it is wise to put more AdSense blocks. However, always make sure that the main unit which will generate the major part of the revenue is loaded first in the web site source code. In case you wonder, if you place more than 3 ads units on a page only the first 3 will appear.

AdSense. Google AdSense was the first program started 8 years back where any person from any part of the world can participate and make money. Prior to Google AdSense, people were making lots of money from other programs like affiliate programs, eBay, Clickbank, Commission Junction but that was limited to some of the countries like US, UK, Canada etc. When Google started AdSense in 2003, it was opened for everyone who own a website or a blog. It was very easy to make money with AdSense and still people are making thousands of dollars from Google AdSense.
So now its sure that you need a website for making money on Google AdSense. Many of the people when think of creating a site for making money, they just loose the hopes. They think creating a site means, you need to be an expert and need web designing knowledge. But this is the thing of the past. Now people like me and you can easily create a site though many of the software that comes with the hosting. And yes, creating a WordPress blog is damn easy.

The source of all AdSense income is the AdWords program, which in turn has a complex pricing model based on a Vickrey second price auction. AdSense commands an advertiser to submit a sealed bid (i.e., a bid not observable by competitors). Additionally, for any given click received, advertisers only pay one bid increment above the second-highest bid. Google currently shares 68% of revenue generated by AdSense with content network partners, and 51% of revenue generated by AdSense with AdSense for Search partners.

Google Adsense is an affiliate pay per click mode that has taken the Internet part. There are a gift of sites dedicated solely to Google Adsense. Google Adsense is a nice way for a small Internet site owner to make some extra money. Using Adsense does not require any special knowledge, just a computer and a working web site.

First, you should choose the advertisement block format which best suits your web site visual style. The experience shows that the 336x280 Large Rectangle, the 300x250 Medium Rectangle, and the 160x600 Wide Skyscraper are the most effective shapes. Still, you should mind the visual appearance of your web pages when you insert the AdSense code. If you have a little space for ads, the best solution will be the link unit format.

Paid Traffic

Google hates the sites that are getting paid traffic and mostly penalizes them so there is not a damn chance of getting approved by AdSense for a site that is getting paid traffic. You can bring traffic from Search Engines or any other way you want but if you want to earn via Google AdSense the right way, paid traffic is not a solution.
Also note, that Google do not accept site which gets traffic from illegal sources. So focus on getting traffic from legal sources like social media, SEO and related blogs.

Putting AdSense video capabilities into place on your Web site differs a little
with each different type of video capability AdSense offers. The simplest path
to take involves using click-to-play video ads, whereas AdSense for Video is
definitely a bit trickier.
Implementing click-to-play video ads is as simple as choosing the right format.

You have no control over what videos get placed beyond enabling the
graphic format that click-to-play video ads require. Ads are placed when
they’re appropriate for your site.
Earning with click-to-play ads is the same as earning with other AdSense for
Content ads. Site visitors must click the ad and be taken to the advertiser’s
Web site for you to earn your payment on the ad.

Video units are a little more complicated than
click-to-play ads. Video units
are actually ads shown along with
YouTube videos that are displayed in a
specialized player you’ve added to your Web site.
You do have some control over what
videos you choose to show in your
player. You can select the video content
you want by picking content categories,
by selecting individual content providers,
 or by having video automatically
targeted to your site content.

Before you can do any of that, however,
you have to have a YouTube account
that’s connected to your Web site.

YouTubeis a video-sharing service that’s owned
by Google. With YouTube, anyone can upload
and share videos with others. Or, if you’re not
the videoshooting-and-sharing kind of person,
you can browse YouTube videos to find
things that interest you. Since I’ve been using
 YouTube, I’ve watched movie spoofs,
instructional videos, and even sermons from church services. What
you watch is directed by your taste in videos.

While it is a good idea to use section targeting around the
main content, you should skip adding the section targeting
tags for the comment section in your blog because the
comments may not exactly convey what the page is all
about. The aim is to increase the relevance of Google Ads.

Installing the code

Installing the code for the AdSense player is exactly like installing any other
AdSense code on your Web site. First highlight and copy the code and then
paste it into the HTML- HyperText Markup Language for your Web site,
between the <body>and </body>tags.

After you upload your Web site code to the server, your
video units should begin showing immediately,
although in some rare cases, you could experience
a short delay. If your ads aren’t showing within about an hour of having
uploaded the new site with the AdSense code included, contact AdSense to
see if you’ve done something wrong.

Ditch The Leaderboard. Almost every site
that uses AdSense features a 728×90 leaderboard
ad unit. While this size is very popular, it isn’t
always the best performer because it is inherently
separated from the content. Ad units that can be
 integrated into a site’s content, such as a 300×250,
 often perform better.

Shut Off Other Revenue Streams. We’d generally
encourage running other types of monetization efforts
besides traditional banner ads and link units, such as
Outbrain. But it’s worthwhile to experiment with shutting
these other efforts off and analyze the impact on
AdSense performance. If low paying monetization
implementations are cannibalizing higher paying
opportunities, you could make more money by removing the laggards.

In addition to the forward facing design elements
highlighted above, there are a number  tweaks that
can be made to help the entire ad serving process
run more smoothly. Maximizing your site’s speed,
planning around the mobile appearance, and taking
advantage of available reporting and analytics, you’ll
be able to squeeze out some additional revenue.

domain name- A name that represents a Web site

United States, the domain name can end in .com for businesses, .edu for
educational institutions, .org for nonprofit organizations, or the prestigious
.net for organizations that are part of the structure of the Web itself.
Newly added suffixes, which haven’t necessarily caught on yet, include .biz
and .firm. When visiting a domain that was created for an organization
outside the United States, you may see different suffixes that have been added to
represent a country or region. For example, .uk signifies that the domain
was created for the United Kingdom. The part of the domain that precedes
the suffix, such as test.in test.edu, is either the name of the
group that puts up the Web site, or a name that attracts people to the site.
Domain names can start with wwwif desired, but it’s not always necessary.
