LG's Odin-LG is apparently indeed testing a mobile chipset

As the rumors have it, the Odin smartphone was delayed numerous times due to overheating issues and production hiccups. According to the latest report though those have been solved and we are going to see the mysterious phone announced any moment now.

If those report is authentic, then we should be seeing the Odin-running smartphone as early as this week. The insider claims the phone will be launched as part of the LG G3 series and it will be a test run for the proprietary chipset. Apparently LG isn't ready to promote the Odin on a flagship device just yet and wants to play it safe. The Odin chipset is rumored to feature a big.LITTLE configuration for the processor with four Cortex-A15 and four Cortex-A7 cores.

This is a powerful combination, but it should be retired soon in favor of the 64-bit ARM cores already premiering on the Exynos 7 Octa and a few Snapdragon chipsets. Hopefully LG will surprise us with the GPU - it could either be ARM's Mali-T604 (for the quad-core variant), the Mali-T760 (for the octa-core CPU), or maybe even a PowerVR Series 6. Just three weeks ago we saw an LG Liger (F490L) device make it through the Bluetooth certification authority and it is highly possible this is indeed the upcoming Odin-powered smartphone.

Apple designs-new Apple Watch-smartwatch created by Apple

the smart wearables market, which shows that the Apple Watch is the most hotly
anticipated device. 59% of people questioned said they are looking forward to
trying the first Apple smartwatch. A potential smartwatch by Amazon would
also enjoy significant interest - 57% of the survey participants would like to
see the retail giant come up with its own wearable. Google-powered devices
aren't that far behind with 53% interest. Of course with
Android Wear smartwatches already on sale for a few months, chances are
plenty of people have already jumped on board and aren't on the waiting list anymore.

In fact, according to the study one in five US adults already own a smart wearable of one kind of another, which means that pioneers have been handsomely rewarded for their speed.
However, 33% of those early adopters have abandoned their purchasing device within one year so there's obviously huge potential for improving. 76% of all respondents said that they don't see the smart wearables as a potential replacement for a gadget they already have - instead it should serve to bring new functionality. There's obviously huge potential in the smart wearable niche at present given the sheer number of large players that aim to participate and the amount of marketing dollars they bring to it.

    Meizu MX4 Pro-YunOS boot screen

The Meizu MX4 Pro will likely have to wait until November to make
its public debut, but that doesn't mean it will be keeping away from
the spotlight until then. We got yet another leak, showing the upcoming
flagship in its two color versions - black and white.

The Meizu MX4 Pro front panel, which will feature a centrally placed
hardware key underneath the display. That's a break of tradition by
the Chinese company, which has used capacitive touch buttons in its
previous flagships, including the MX4. The reason for the switch is the
presence of a fingerprint scanner, which will allegedly be embedded in
the home key. Meizu MX4 Pro No other specs were confirmed by this
leak, but we've previously heard that the MX4 Pro will come with a 5.36"
QHD display, Exynos 5 Octa SoC, 20.7MP camera, and Android 4.4
dressed in Flyme OS user interface. A YunOS-powered version also
surfaced a few days ago, but even if that actually exists it will likely never
     leave the borders of China.

    Jolla's Smartphone Announced Android

    Jolla's Smartphone Announced Android

Jolla will officially begin selling its Sailfish OS smartphone in India
in four days, on September 23. The Finnish company delivered
the news on its official Facebook page. As initially announced,
Jolla's first handset will be offered on the vast market through a
partnership with the online retailer Snapdeal. The latter will be
the exclusive retailer for the Jolla smartphone in India.

Considering the recently announced Android One family
of smartphones, as well as the second generation Moto G,
we reckon that pricing will be key factor for any success Jolla
can possibly achieve in India. Here's hoping that the aging yet
characterful device won't be stuck between the increasingly
more capable entry-level Android devices and the high-end
    smartphone establishment.

    Lenovo Vibe X2 Makeing Impressions

    Lenovo Vibe X2 Makeing Impressions

The Vibe X2 and Vibe Z2. The former is clearly the superior
smartphone with a 5" 1080p display. It has a MediaTek
MT6595m true octa-core chipset with 2GB of RAM and a
processor that clocks all the way up to 2.0GHz. The Vibe X2
has 32GB of storage, 13MP snapper on the back with a 5MP
front-facer handling selfies and front video.

Lenovo revealed two new smartphones in its Vibe lineup:
the Vibe X2 and Vibe Z2. While the Vibe X2 uses a unique
multi-layered design, the Vibe Z2 aims to make selfie addicts every one.

The battery is 2,300mAh unit and the Lenovo Vibe X2 is
pleasantly light for a 5-incher at just 120g and extremely thin
at just 7.27mm. In charge of operating the device is
Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo's Vibe UI 2.0. Lenovo Vibe X2
The Lenovo Z2 looks to be the QHD Vibe Z2 Pro's underboss.
    It packs a huge 5.5" display of 720p resolution, a 64-bit
Snapdragon 410 chipset with four 1.2GHz cores and 2GB of RAM.

     The Vibe Z2 has a 13MP main camera and 8MP front-facing one.
It's pretty light for its size at 158g and offers dual-SIM support.
Lenovo Vibe Z2 All of the above puts the Lenovo Vibe Z2 as a
     prime competitor to HTC's newly-announced Desire 820.

    Huawei Ascend G7-Woo Set

Huawei Ascend G7 is the latest midranger in the company
portfolio. It's headlined by a 5.5" 720p IPS display or
    1280 x 720px and a 267ppi density. It has a quad-core
processor with four Cortex-A53 1.2GHz cores, 2GB of RAM.

Huawei introduced a sleek, sophisticated, high-end phablet
called the Ascend Mate 7. The phone has a fingerprint sensor .

Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei's Emotion UI 3.0.
Huawei Ascend G7 The camera set is comprised of a
13MP f/2.0 snapper on the back and a 5MP shooter on the front.
What's most impressive here is the built of the device.
The Ascend G7 is 153.5mm tall and 77.3mm but what really
stands out is the 7.6mm thickness. The smartphone tips the
scales at 165g. Huawei Ascend G7 The Huawei Ascend G7
offers LTE connectivity and dual antenna that should be able
to enforce a stronger network connectivity.

    BlackBerry Passport-launched on September

BlackBerry Passport is finally due to be launched on September
24, it seems. The Canadian company that makes it has just begun
sending out invites for three events it will hold on that date, in three
different locations: Toronto, Canada, London, UK, and Dubai, UAE.
Presumably all of these will happen at the same time, but nothing's
certain yet as BlackBerry hasn't announced starting times.

BlackBerry looks set to officially launch its unusual-looking
Passport smartphone on September 24 at events in
    Toronto, London, and Dubai.

The company has a lot riding on the Passport, hoping that it will
appeal to the die-hard BlackBerry fans. We'll see if that actually
pans out. Specs for the Passport got leaked a couple of weeks ago.
You should expect it to come with a 4.5-inch LCD display with
1440x1440 resolution, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Running the show will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset
with a 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU, aided by 3GB of RAM. The
handset will have 32GB of built-in storage, expandable even
further via microSD cards. The rear camera will be a 13 MP
unit with OIS, while the front-facing one will have 2 MP resolution.
    Connectivity-wise, the Passport will support
    LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC.
Keeping things powered up will be a huge 3,450 mAh battery.
    The Passport's dimensions are allegedly set to be 128 x 90.3 x 9.3mm.

    Upcoming HTC Desire 820

    Upcoming HTC Desire 820

HTC Desire 820 will be the first device to sport Qualcomm's new
Snapdragon 615 chipset, which is set to run on a 64-bit architecture.
Now, the device has been thoroughly pictured ahead of its
    expected IFA announcement on Thursday.

Keep in mind that the leaked images look eerily like the
Desire 816, so take this with more than the usual grain of salt.
Besides sporting four 1.8GHz cores and four 1.0GHz cores -
both of the new Cortex-A53 variety - the new Snapdragon 615
chipset will also feature the latest generation Adreno 405 GPU.
The 5.5-inch device will have a rather disappointing screen of
720p resolution, but will make up for it with a 13MP/8MP camera
combo, 2,600mAh battery, 8GB of storage, and 1.5GB RAM.
Meanwhile, HTC also announced another 64-bit-capable
smartphone recently, the Desire 510. The Desire 510 is
decidedly the less robust of the two, with a quad-core
     chip and 4.7-inch screen.

    New Moto X+1 -emerged online

A new set of Moto X+1 photos emerged online,
giving a clear look at the upcoming handset.
The anonymous source revealed that the Moto logo on
the phone's back could be, in fact, a power button, which
can also be programmed for other shortcuts.

Several months passed since the LTE-enabled version
of Motorola's popular trooper – the Moto G – got unveiled.
Apart from flaunting an increased price tag, microSD slot,
and 4G LTE capabilities, the device was otherwise identical
to its 3G-only peer. The often-lauded device runs on usually
the most up-to-date version of almost-stock Android, which
paves the way for smooth performance and, therefore, pretty
    good overall user experience.

The MOTO app is visible on the handset's home-screen,
which means there will be some additional software features.
Additionally, the front panel is decorated with four sensors,
which suggests they can function as depth measurers for a
possible 3D-enabled interface, or serve the MOTO app
     somehow - perhaps gesture controls.

    Sony SmartWatch 3

    Sony SmartWatch 3

Sony is expected to introduce the Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia Z3
Compact and the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact this coming week
at IFA in Berlin. In addition, it appears that Sony will be introducing
a pair of new wearable devices at the same time.

Fuzzy looking renders of both the Sony SmartWatch 3 and
the Sony SmartBand Talk have appeared, sparking talk that
both will also be unveiled at the Sony event on September 4th.

The Sony SmartWatch 3 is powered by Android Wear and will
     feature a 1.68 inch screen with a 320 x 320 resolution.
The timepiece has an IP58 certification.

The Sony SmartWatch 3 will feature a 1.68" display with
     a 320x320 pixel resolution. It'll have IP58 certification under
its strap and run Android Wear instead of regular Android with
a Sony skin on top. As for the SmartBand Talk, it features a
curved e-ink display and Bluetooth connectivity. The fitness
tracker wearable should also be able to alert of phone notifications,
but no further details are available at this point. But that's not all,
as the company also teased we're about to go into deep waters with its latest products.

    Lenovo X2-Android smartphone-TENAA website.

This Android smartphone from Lenovo has appeared on the
Chinese TENAA website. Dubbed the X2, the smartphone
has passed certification in the country and has revealed a
decent sounding specs sheet in the process.

The Lenovo X2 will be available in two versions with
model names X2-CU and X2-TO. The X2-CU is
powered by an octa-core CPU, presumably residing in
     a MediaTek chipset, while the X2-TO packs a 2.2GHz
dual-core processor. This is the only difference between the two
as both feature a 5" 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and
     32GB of storage.

At the back, both Lenovo X2 versions feature a 13MP snapper
with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. Their dimensions
     are 140.2 x 68.6 x 7.27mm and the overall design is a bit
reminiscent of Sony's Xperia Z-series of phones.
With the certification process done with, Lenovo should launch
the Android 4.4 running phones soon enough.

    Nexus 9-far detailed

Nexus tablet we've been treated to more than one leak
about the coveted Nexus 9. The latest one is from
hardware-assessing app CPU-Z, which confirms the SoC in charge
of the tablet is the latest Nvidia Tegra K1 64-bit.

We've already suspected the tablet will carry a 64-bit Nvidia
chip and with two leaks behind it, the rumors seem plausible
to say the least. The Tegra K1 inside the Nexus 9 will have a
top clock speed of 2.5GHz which is higher than the 2.2GHz
non-64-bit Tegra K1 we benchmarked and found to top
charts, especially in the graphics department.

Nvidia claims its Tegra K1 chip is 1.5 times more efficient
than its competition which should translate into reasonable
battery life despite the immense power within. The Tegra K1
has a 192-core GPU based on the desktop-grade Kepler
architecture and Nvidia's Cuda cores. As for the Nexus 9, it's
     rumored to have a 4:3 aspect 1440 x 2048 pixel 8.9" display
of 281ppi, 8MP camera and the latest Android L from Google.

    Chitika Report-Amazon Fire phone commands

    Chitika Report-Amazon Fire

     phone commands

According to ad viewing traffic from Chitika Insights the
Amazon Fire phone commands around 0.015% of ad serving
in the US for the last 20 days of Chitika's research.

Coupled with the comScore data that in the three months
ending June 2014 there were between 173m and 175m
phones active in the US some have estimated that the Amazon
Fire phone has only ended up in the hands of around 26
thousand users. Amazon released its Fire phone exclusively
on AT&T's network for $199 but there were no official
numbers given since then as is usual for Amazon. After
some elaborate number crunching, the source points that
if not all Fire Phone users are active online the 26 thousand
units may rise to 35 thousand - because the people who
aren't online don't show up on the survey.

Either way, the number is far lower than the Kindle tablets
and clearly point that the phone is enjoying less than
great reception. Again no official numbers have
been given and as the estimates above are vague
as it is the Fire phone could very well have sold slightly more.

    Sony Z3 Tablet-specs-mystery

    Sony Z3 Tablet-specs-mystery

the tablet's specs were shrouded in mystery, but thanks
to a tip sent to AndroidOrigin.com we might have an idea
what the sub 8" tablet will be all about. According to the source
of the information, the tablet packs an 8" or a tad smaller IPS
display of 1080p resolution. It packs Sony's Triluminos screen
with the X-Reality picture processing engine and an additional layer
to decrease reflection. Under the hood, the Xperia Z3 Tablet
Compact is said to feature a Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC
chipset with a quad-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of
internal storage. There's no information whether a microSD card
slot is available, but Sony fitting one is more likely than not.

At the back, the tablet features an 8MP camera with an Exmor
RS sensor, presumably with LED flash. The battery is rated in
     the 4500-5000mAh range the LG G Pad 8.3 has a 4600mAh
one and connectivity is comprehensive with LTE, NFC,
    Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-FI 802.11ac.

We have a bit more than a week left to find out if the
Sony Z3 Tablet Compact will have the aforementioned specs
and if it can hold a candle to its rivals

    Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook-oow

    Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook-oow

Samsung is clearly taking center stage here, from the hardware to
its name: the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook.
In almost all regards, this looks like a Samsung effort, with Nook
along for the ride. Even the iconic Nook software is relegated
to select apps and widgets and some firmware changes
on top of what's otherwise stock Android 4.4 KitKat, with
some Samsung TouchWiz – err – touches.
the device offers a premium, tactile feel. The textured
back will come in handy on the subway or tube when
    you're forced to read one-handed.
    you get a pretty sharp 7-inch, 1280 x 800 216 ppi TFT
     touchscreen, with a quad-core, 1.2GHz Marvell processor
and 1.5GB of RAM running the show. The Tab 4 Nook packs
a paltry 8GB of storage, expandable by up to 32GB via
microSD. However, all Nook Shop purchases are stored
remotely in B&N's Nook Cloud service.
his allows you to look up any piece of content either stored
in your Nook Cloud or available on the Nook Shop.
Speaking of which, Nook Shop is essentially what Nook
fans are used to for buying all sorts of reading content,
games and apps. Lastly, Nook Today offers up the latest
B&N bookseller recommendations and previews of the latest periodicals.

Besides the SM-N920T model number, there's confirmation of a
QHD display at 1440 x 2560px resolution. Also possibly listed
is the presence of a 64-bit processor. These latest bits of information
can be added to what else we've heard regarding the device,
including the 5.7-inch display, S-Pen, and USB 3.0 port alongside
the fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor introduced with the
Galaxy S5. The device will also be one of the first to run
Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 805 variant, which is hinted at
making an appearance on the SM-N910S model of the Note 4.

The custom Nook widgets on the Tab 4 Nook home screen
simply collect all reading content on your device or in Nook
Cloud and offer up current deals in the Nook Shop. Both
widgets make the interface feel a bit more specialized,
    but aren't exactly major.

iPhone has evolved to be a fantastic camera

The iPhone has evolved to be a fantastic camera, but you can get
even more out of it and develop your own photographic style with
     a few apps handy.

    Camera replacement: ProCamera 7
ProCamera 7 is a surprisingly simple camera app at the surface,
that also hides many advanced features in a way that is unobtrusive
yet easy to access. Before we jump into them, though, it’s worth
pointing out how stable and crash-free this app is, something
very important given that even the most popular iPhone camera apps often crash.

    Oppo Neo 5-LTE smartphone

Oppo Neo 5 is latest affordable LTE smartphone, successor of the
Oppo Neo. The company has significantly updated the internals with
    a Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A7 CPU,
1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage expandable with the
     microSD card slot. The display is a 4.5" with a 854 x 480 pixel
resolution, which equates to 218 ppi. The phone is running
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the company's ColorOS UI on top.
At the back above the 1,900mAh battery sits a 5MP snapper
with a BSI CMOS sensor and f/2.4 aperture. The phone comes
with screen-off gestures, Wi-Fi display and support for
    Flash playback. The Oppo Neo 5 measures 132 x 65.8 x 9.2mm
and weighs 132.5 g. Expect the phone to hit Malaysia starting next
week for $190 -RM598. A wider release may also be planned.

    Huawei Ascend Mate 7-passed

    Huawei Ascend Mate 7-passed

Huawei's upcoming phablet, the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, has passed
through TENAA and left a cache of specifications. The Mate 7 is
the successor to the Mate2 and has a 6" screen so where did the 7
come from. The screen may be 6" big - 0.1" smaller than the previous
models but with 1080p resolution instead of 720p. The device
    measures 157 x 81 x 7.9mm, so it's shorter, narrower and thinner
than its predecessor. It's lighter too, tipping the scales at 185g.
That's impressive considering that Huawei has replaced the plastic
back of the Mate2 with an aluminum plate, which makes the
Ascend Mate 7 look like the HTC One Max. The fingerprint
sensor beneath the camera makes the similarity even greater.
Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Anyway, the Mate 7 will leave the
mid-range chipsets of its predecessors in favor of the HiSilicon
    Kirin 920.

It has an octa-core big.LITTLE processor with four Cortex-A7
and four Cortex-A15 cores plus 2GB of RAM 3GB option.
The phablet runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat will likely feature the
latest Emotion UI. The main camera is a 13MP shooter with a
single-LED flash and there's a 5MP selfie camera. The main
    camera records 1080p video. There's 16GB of built-in storage
and a microSD card slot to add up to 128GB more. The Huawei
Ascend Mate 7 will be available in Black, White and Gold. TENAA
certified two versions though both seem aimed at Chinese carriers.

    Exynos 5433-powered-Samsung Galaxy Note 4

The Samsung N910C is powered by a Exynos 5433 not to be
confused with the Exynos 5430 found in the Galaxy Alpha,
while the N910S is based on Snapdragon 805. The new Exynos
chipset moves to 64-bit processing with four Cortex-A57 cores
and four Cortex-A53. Those are the successors to the 32-bit
A15 and A7 respectively but implement the ARMv8-A instructions
set same as Apple's Cyclone cores. The Snapdragon 805 uses
32-bit Krait 450 cores. The chipset also brings a new generation
of GPU, the Mali-T760, the third generation of the architecture
behind the Mali-T628 that powers Galaxy Alpha's chipset. The
Qualcomm chipset brings a next-gen GPU as well, Adreno 420.
The Galaxy Note 4 will have 3GB of RAM in both its Exynos
and Snapdragon versions.  It helps that it has faster access to
RAM too. The new Mali-T760 has an edge over the new
Adreno 420 at the QHD resolution of the Galaxy Note 4 screen.
We added the score to our own charts and the new Samsung-made
chipset certainly seems impressive. It offers a small improvement
over the 5430 but the thing to keep in mind here is that Android
4.4 isn't optimized for the new instruction set used in the Exynos
chipset and the QHD screen resolution.

    Meizu MX4-QHD

A screenshot has leaked over in China and the source claims it
belongs to the upcoming Meizu MX4. The screenshot shows a
camera UI and was reportedly 1536 x 2502 in resolution pointing
to QHD resolution for the Meizu MX4 screen. The issue is that
the screenshot cannot be found in full resolution so this could
turn out to be false information. Still it's highly possible that the
Meizu MX4 will indeed sport a resolution higher than 1080p
on what's projected to be a 5.4" display.

The screenshot reveals that the camera will be able to capture
    above-1080p video - we're guessing UHD. Alleged Meizu MX4
screenshot The Meizu MX4 has already been spotted flaunting
impressively-thin bezels. Last year's model MX3 had bezels
equal to those of the LG G2. The Meizu MX4 is going to
become official on September 2 and should offer a 20.7MP
     Sony-made camera, 3GB of RAM, 5.4" 2560 x 1536 display,
an octa-core Exynos 5433, Meizu's Flyme OS 4.0 and aprice
    of around $406 or €303.
