In his first public appearance in more than a week, Goodell vowed to improve the NFL's personal conduct policy as it relates to domestic violence and win back the credibility that the league has lost.

"Unfortunately, over the past several weeks, we have seen all too much of the NFL doing wrong," Goodell said on Friday. "That starts with me."

With the NFL facing perhaps its most public crisis ever, Goodell had remained conspicuously absent until addressing the media in New York City on Friday. At the start of his prepared remarks, he again admitted that the NFL mishandled the domestic violence case involving former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

"I got it wrong in the handling of the Ray Rice matter, and I'm sorry for that," Goodell told reporters. "But now I will get it right."

The NFL's mishandling of Rice's domestic violence case as well as its inaction in cases involving Greg Hardy of the Carolina Panthers and Ray McDonald of the San Francisco 49ers has drawn widespread criticism in recent weeks. The scrutiny increased after Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was indicted in a child abuse case. As the Vikings stumbled in their attempts to discipline Peterson, the 2012 NFL MVP, throughout the week, Goodell remained silent on the matter.

"We strongly, strongly condemn and will punish behavior that is totally unacceptable: Domestic violence, including child abuse, sexual assault, irresponsible ownership or handling of fire arms, the illegal use of alcohol or drugs. These activities must be condemned and stopped through education and discipline," Goodell said on Friday. "Our standards and the consequences of falling short must be clear, consistent and current. They must be implemented through procedures that are fair and transparent."

Acknowledging the league's failure to adequately deal with these issues, Goodell announced that changes will be made to the NFL's personal conduct policy, including the implementation of a set of transparent rules for teams and the league to follow. Goodell hopes to have these new personal conduct policies in place by the Super Bowl and will meet with NFL Players Association chief DeMaurice Smith next week on the topic. He intends to establish a "conduct committee" to develop procedures for conduct problems.

"Nothing is off the table," Goodell said, indicating that his role in player discipline may be limited or altered going forward.

entering the start of the very best season for cinema.
Tis the season for high quality movies, with the upcoming New York
Film Festival really kicking off Oscar season for me.
That’s not to say that the next week or two won’t have
plenty to talk about, but once we’re in October it’s really the heat
of the moment then, as it were. Even so, the whole month of
September has plenty to be excited about, I assure you of that much.

There’s no shortage of quality coming our way, so be excited folks.
Below you’ll see a total of ten titles plus a pair of honorable mentions
that I feel represent the best of the month. I’ve seen a handful of
the films to be discussed, so I can vouch for those personally. The rest?
Well, I’ll be reporting in on them real soon. In the meantime,
here you go: 10. The Guest – A throwback thriller.

I saw this film from up and coming genre filmmaker Adam Wingard
who blew me away with You’re Next last year recently and liked
it a lot. It feels like a B movie from the 1980′s, a slow burn
through and through. If you like the sort of thing where you laugh
and cringe in equal measure, this one will be for you. It hits on the
17th. 9. The Zero Theorem – Any new work from filmmaker
Terry Gilliam is worth taking note of. Even if this isn’t my favorite
one of his I’m currently embargoed from saying too much more,
it’s far from boring and has a top notch cast led by Christoph Waltz.

This one comes out on the 19th and likely will divide audiences.
Something tells me that Gilliam wouldn’t have it any other way though8.
Two Night Stand – Another movie I’ve already seen, this romantic comedy
is actually a lot better than the ads would lead you to believe.

The Vibe Z2 has a 13MP main camera and 8MP front-facing one.
It's pretty light for its size at 158g and offers dual-SIM support.
Lenovo Vibe Z2 All of the above puts the Lenovo Vibe Z2 as a
prime competitor to HTC's newly-announced Desire 820.

BlackBerry Passport is finally due to be launched on September
24, it seems. The Canadian company that makes it has just begun
sending out invites for three events it will hold on that date, in three
different locations: Toronto, Canada, London, UK, and Dubai, UAE.
Presumably all of these will happen at the same time, but nothing's
certain yet as BlackBerry hasn't announced starting times.

BlackBerry looks set to officially launch its unusual-looking
Passport smartphone on September 24 at events in
Toronto, London, and Dubai.

The company has a lot riding on the Passport, hoping that it will
appeal to the die-hard BlackBerry fans. We'll see if that actually
pans out. Specs for the Passport got leaked a couple of weeks ago.
You should expect it to come with a 4.5-inch LCD display with
1440x1440 resolution, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Running the show will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset
with a 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU, aided by 3GB of RAM. The
handset will have 32GB of built-in storage, expandable even
further via microSD cards. The rear camera will be a 13 MP
unit with OIS, while the front-facing one will have 2 MP resolution.
Connectivity-wise, the Passport will support
LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC.
Keeping things powered up will be a huge 3,450 mAh battery.
The Passport's dimensions are allegedly set to be 128 x 90.3 x 9.3mm.

If your domain registrar is not on this list, you’ll have to figure out how to make these
changes on your own. It’s not as daunting as it may sound, but it’s not possible at all
