The nofollow Link Attribute-SEO forums

The nofollow Link

The nofollowlink attribute is not new, but
it is still a fairly popular topic in SEO forums
and blogs, and there still seems to be
confusion about the use of this link
 attribute. Inearly 2005, Google introduced
the nofollowlink attribute to
“prevent comment spam”
in blogs, message boards, and so forth.

If you’re a blogger or a blog reader, you’re
painfully familiar with people who try to
raise their own websites’ search engine rankings
 by submitting linked blog comments
like “Visit my discount pharmaceuticals site.”
This is called comment spam, we don’t
like it either, and we’ve been testing a new
tag that blocks it. From now on, when Google
sees the attribute rel=“nofollow” on hyperlinks,
those links won’t get any credit when
we rank websites in our search results that
 increase your blog traffic.
This isn’t a negative vote for the site
where the comment was posted; it’s just
a way to make sure that spammers get no
benefit from abusing public areas like blog
comments, trackbacks, and referrer lists.

The major search engines support the
nofollow attribute, but in different capacities.
Whereas Google will honor the attribute in
its most conservative form—by not indexing
 or passing PageRank—other search engines
might index the link or even pass the
link juice.

A perfect example of the misuse of
the nofollow attribute is on pretty much
every page of Wikipedia. Wikipedia
indiscriminately uses nofollowon almost
all outbound links, including .gov and .edu links.

If a regular link looked like the following:

<a href="http://www.mydomain.com/page.html">Great Site</a>

the link that should be “not followed”
 would be in this form:

<a href="http://www.mydomain.com/page.html" rel="nofollow" >
Great Site</a>

Setting Up a Blog-Creating Blog-create a website

Setting Up a Blog

standard ways of communicating
specific types of information
Things that you, the reader, are asked to
 type are shown in bold.
New terms are printed in italics.

Information used in specific ways is
formatted in a specific typeface.
One of the most common kinds of
information displayed this way is
HTML heading tags and all html tags; that is, formatting information
used to create Webpages .
An example of a tag is <TITLE>.
We also use a special typeface for URLs
Uniform Resource Locators,
which are the addresses used to specify
the location of Web pages.

Web page:A text document that is published on
a Web server, has HTML tags in it,
almost always includes hypertext links, and
usually includes graphics. When you click
the Back button in your Web browser, you
move to the previous Web page that you
visited.

Web site:A text document that is published
on a Web server, has HTML tags in it,
almost always includes hypertext links, and
usually includes graphics. When you click
the Back button in your Web browser, you
move to the previous Web page that you
visited.

Web site:A collection of Web pages that
share a common theme and purpose and
that users generally access through the
site’s home page

Home page: The Web page that people
generally access first within a Web site. You let
people know the URL (address) of your
home page and try to get other Web page
creators to provide links to it.

A Web page or Web site is basically
a publication, though an interactive one.
Thinking about a few simple principles
now, before you start, can help make
your Web page much more interesting
and useful to the people who see it.
You can also revisit this section after you
 put up your initial Web home page;
use these guidelines to revise your page
and make it even more interesting
and useful.

Single photographs:People like to see a picture
of the person behind the blog. If you blog
anonymously, this still applies to you! Take a fun
picture with your back to the camera or use a
good illustration so you don’t have to reveal
yourself. Also, consider including pictures relevant
to your blog or that give someone a better picture
of who you are. These images could be a famous
monument if you’re a travel blogger or a picture
of your family for a personal blog.
Photo collages or strips:Another way to include
photos is by using collages or even a ribbon of
 thumbnail photos.
These images liven up the page and provide
visual information about the topics on your blog.
Subheadings:Images are the only visual element
on an About page. Subheadings also break up
long blocks of text. They give the reader
a place to pause and can entice readers to read further.
 Bullets and numbered lists:Organizing your
content into bullets or numbered lists gives
readers a visual break and emphasizes key things
you want the reader to know.
Testimonials:If your blog is more product-oriented,
try including a testimonial to break up the text. Use the
block quote treatment so the testimonial visually stands
out, which I cover earlier in this chapter.
Call-to-action area:Use your About page as
a chance to capture a small piece of information,
like an e-mail address for a newsletter. If you add
this near the bottom of your page, you can even
repeat the same subscription box from your sidebar,
especially because the reader may
have scrolled past the sidebar subscription box
and it’s now out of sight.
Social media icons:At the end of an About page,
offer a way to connect with you by including
social media icons for your profiles

powerful seo-Article Submission

Article Submission

This may not be as powerful as it used
to be according to some, however I
still continue to do it for as many
backlinks as possible from good sites.
If you are going to do it yourself, submit
 to the following sites:
Ezine Articles - http://ezinearticles.com
Article Base - http://www.articlesbase.com
Go Articles - http://goarticles.com
Article Alley - http://www.articlealley.com
Sooper Articles - http://www.sooperarticles.com
Idea Marketers - http://www.ideamarketers.com
Article Snatch - http://www.articlesnatch.com
These are only a few sites, but these are all great
to use. I however prefer to outsource this
method as usual and some seo tips for blogging.

Google+/Twitter/Facebook Likes

Social stuff is fantastic for your site, Google is
relying a lot on social interaction with
websites.
I am not sure how to do this manually,
so this has always been outsourced.
Make sure you have each or one of these
buttons for your website, all buttons
can be added easily to your site.
You will need a Twitter account for
your site to get the followers.

Link Pyramid

This is a technique most will already know,
I still like to use it because I noticed some fairly
well known SEO companies still using
Link Pyramid system to get your sites ranked.
The idea is to build backlinks to your backlinks,
you can do this manually but first you need
to have a list of backlinks.

High PR Backlinks

High PR backlinks are what you want pointing
at your site. To find them is a bit of a hassle
but you can use Google, and a Firefox Tool
called SEO quake.

First you will just do a quick search in Google.

site:.com inurl:blog "post a comment" "keyword"
site:.com inurl:forum "post a comment" "keyword"

One will find blogs, and one will find Forums.
When you have SEO Quake turned on, under
each result it will show the PR of each site.

Google Advertising tools

Every business and businessperson needs to
know how to position advertising with
AdWords
, and should consider how to
capitalize on the money making potential of AdSense.
Effective use of both programs requires a practical
mastery of a number of related issues, including
how to create an effective Internet marketing plan,
 implement Search  Engine  Optimization  SEO,
understand  the  structure  of  search,
and  track results  using  programs  such  as
  Google  Analytics.  Besides  covering
AdSense  and AdWords.
If your site has a great deal of traffic, then
the site’s traffic is  broad. Google itself is a
prime  example  of  a  broad-traffic  site;
people  use  Google  to  search  for  a
 myriad  of different things.

From Google’s viewpoint, the AdSense
program represents a way to extend the pages
that host its ads from its own search results
pages across the entire Web. The result of
this extension has been the creation of an
excellent mechanism for monetizing content
and traffic.

Google will review  the website address
you provide for compliance with the content
policies of the AdSense program. It is common
for Google to reject websites for noncompliance
 with content provisions of the AdSense policies;
as I’ve already noted, the prohibitions are fairly
broad and exclude a variety of “sinful” content,
ranging from excessive advertising content or
adult content to content about hacking—and even
prohibit content using excessive profanity.
If you plan to host AdSense, your site had
better not promote sin or even cuss words.

It’s pretty simple, really, to fill out the AdSense
form; as these things go, it is not a lot
of red  tape.  Once you’ve entered the
information required to sign up with AdSense,
you must associate it with a Google account.
There are two ways to do this:
• You can associate your AdSense application
with an existing Google account, such
as one you use with Gmail or AdWords.
• You can create a new Google account

AdSense for Content Ad Settings

Once your AdSense account has been approved,
you’ll likely want to get started by
adding the code that will place Google’s ads
on your site. To get started with AdSense
for Content, log in to Google AdSense and
 click the Ad Settings tab.

Working with AdSense
• Use the color palette to match your site.
If you do this, it is speculated, some users
may click on the ads because they think they
are part of your site, not ads.

• Make a color choice that starkly contrasts
with your site. By doing this, the ads are
made more noticeable, and thus it is more
likely that they may be clicked.

Channels are a mechanism for keeping
track of which part of a site—or which site, if
you are managing multiple sites in one
AdSense account—is generating clicks.
Custom channelsare channels that you
define in advance of ad deployment.

Where to Place AdSense Ads on Your Pages
Publishers may well wonder where they
should place AdSense ads on their pages for
the best results. There’s a great deal of
speculation about AdSense ad placement in
webmaster circles, but not much hard data.

It is clear that ads placed above the fold
—meaning in the top third of the page where
they will be seen on any computer monitor
without scrolling down—do better than
ads placed lower on a page.
The best performing AdSense ad format and
position is Leaderboard.

 AdWords Activity
Some AdWords users prefer to set the
 Campaign Summary page as the
first page that opens, rather than the
Account Snapshot page. You can
make this change by clicking the link
on the bottom of either the Campaign
 Summary or Account Snapshot pages.

Campaign status  can  be Active, Paused,
or Deleted. If a campaign is Active, ad
groups within the campaign can be Paused.
 Paused campaigns are campaigns that
are not running, but can be reactivated
and set to Active. The number of Paused
ad groups within a campaign will be displayed
 below the campaign’s status.

Samsung Galaxy A7 is great

Samsung has launched the new A7 in the
Indian market. Unlike the A3 and the A5,
which were announced with a formal launch
event, the A7 was quietly made available
without much fanfair. At least one retailer so
far has claimed to have received the device,
with an official price tag of Rs. 30,500 -$491.
It is technically the A7 Duos model, which comes
with two SIM card slot, just like the A3 and A5. The
A7 is the current flagship in Samsung's new A series
and has a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display,
 Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 64-bit
octa-core chipset with 4x 1.5GHz Cortex-A53
cores + 4x 1.0GHz Cortex-A53 cores, Adreno
405 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB memory with micro
SD card slot shared with SIM 2 slot, 13 megapixel
rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, 2,600mAh battery. Share Link

Samsung to pay $15.7 million

The company has been found guilty on
infringing the patents of company Rembrandt
Wireless Technologies LP by the Harrison
County federal jury. The two patents that Samsung
has been found guilty on infringing relate to
Bluetooth technology. More specifically the
patent duo relates to a "system and method
of communication using at least two modulation
methods." The Korean company has been making,
selling, using and offering for sale Bluetooth EDR
enhanced data rate devices and the aforementioned
technology is in the core of them. Just a week ago,
Samsung settled its legal arguments with Microsoft
over royalties. Still, the $15,7 million are nothing next
to the $1.05 billion that Samsung paid Apple in 2012.
